We can offer a bespoke jewellery and silverware service for those of you who wish to have, or give, something unique and personal. Decades of experience, classical training and evolved ideas will be applied throughout the design and manufacturing processes, to create a sophisticated piece that everyone will love. Similarly to many of the ranges we stock, we can work with different precious metals, stones and finishes. Additional service offered include jewellery and silverware repair and resizing.
Find us at our shop, Harbour Smith, in the traditional working harbour of Whitstable.
MY SILVERSMITHING HISTORY I spent four years completing courses for Lower and Higher Diploma's studying Silversmithing at Medway College of Art & Design. In 1984 I won the Goldsmiths Competition for 'Design' with a silver Christening Set, 'Silversmithing' with a large hand hammered Jug and 'Smallwork' with an extremely intricate working Carousel. Upon leaving college in 1985 , I started work with Sarah Jones Silversmiths based in London. Leaving after eleven years to start a business for myself. Work since then has been wonderfully varied, from designing & making for trade, including companies such as Links of London, Garrads and Aspreys, to silverware and jewellery for individual private customers. Culminated with the addition of my retail outlet in the working fishing harbour of Whitstable, where I live and work. The Shop called ' Harbour Smiths' offers a range of silverware and jewellery in all types of precious metals, stones and finishes, and alternatively it is there that you could speak to either myself or my daughter who has joined me in the workshop, about manufacturing a bespoke piece.
