We are a father-and-daughter team of Kent goldsmiths, designing and handcrafting fine jewellery and silverware from our workshop on the Whitstable coast. With decades of experience between us — including trade work for the likes of Garrard and Asprey, and a completed Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths apprenticeship — we bring classical training and a love of the sea to everything we make. Whether you're looking for bespoke jewellery in Whitstable, a unique engagement ring, or a one-of-a-kind piece of silverware, we work closely with each customer to create something truly personal.

Stephen spent four years at Medway College of Art & Design before going on to win the prestigious Goldsmiths' Company Competition in 1984, taking awards across Design, Silversmithing, and Smallwork. After eleven years with Sarah Jones Silversmiths in London, he established his own studio and has since created bespoke pieces for private clients and renowned trade names alike. Daughter Megan has recently completed her five-year indentured apprenticeship with the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths — a rare and distinguished qualification — and now brings her own flair for bespoke creative jewellery, gemstone work, and wedding pieces to the bench. Together, they make up one of the most credentialed small jewellery workshops on the Kent coast.

Our jewellery shop is situated in the centre of the picturesque, historic harbour of Whitstable, our shop Harbour Smiths stocks all our handcrafted jewellery, from diamond set gold jewellery to simple everyday wear items, and it gives you the opportunity to talk to us face-to-face about our jewellery and bespoke pieces.
