Stephen - Owner, Silversmith and Jeweller
I spent four years at Medway College of Art & Design, completing both Lower and Higher Diplomas in Silversmithing. In 1984, I won the Goldsmiths' Company Competition across three categories: 'Design' for a silver Christening set, 'Silversmithing' for a large hand-hammered jug, and 'Smallwork' for an intricate working carousel.
After graduating in 1985, I joined Sarah Jones Silversmiths in London, where I honed my craft for eleven years before establishing my own business. Since then, my work has been wonderfully varied—designing and making pieces for trade clients including Links of London, Garrard, and Asprey, as well as creating bespoke silverware and jewellery for private customers. |

Megan - Goldsmith Jeweller
I have recently finished my Masterpiece, which marks the end of my five year indentured apprenticeship at the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, with Stephen as my Master.
This experiences allowed me to practice fine hand skills, be influenced by other talented senior crafts people in lots of new areas like enamelling, engraving and stone setting, all while working alongside Dad in the workshop designing and crafting jewellery and silverware for our customers. My work consists mainly of bespoke creative jewellery items, wedding jewellery and gemstone jewellery for our retail outlet in Whitstable. |

If we aren't in the workshop, then you can often find us in our little shop located in Whitstable Harbour, where we get the opportunity to connect with new customers and showcase and sell our hand-made jewellery and silverware.
Find us at our shop, Harbour Smiths, in the working harbour of Whitstable. |
